We provide factory specification replacement vacuum pumps (e.g. Waters P/N 700001352) and chambers for many of the Waters brand HPLC degasser modules. These modules most commonly fail after five years of service. Have them professionally serviced regularily to prevent mobile phase contamination.
"Degasser hardware fault" error on your Waters brand HPLC system? High RPM warning or vacuum pressure over 0.9 psi? Do you hear a loud knocking sound or whine coming from the degasser pump? These errors often indicate that your degasser vacuum pump is worn out ,you have vacuum leaks in the tubing and/or damaged degassing chambers. However, before you send in your degasser module to us for diagnostic testing or service, please be sure you review and address the following possible causes of errors.
BEFORE REPLACING PARTS PLEASE CHECK THESE BASIC THINGS FIRST.
(1) Have you properly purged the system? Make sure that ALL CHANNELS have fresh fluid inside them. The degassing system is NOT designed to be operated with air inside any of the vacuum channels. PURGE each of the channels, one-at-a-time, with mobile phase. NEVER plug a chamber because you are not using it (the liquid inside a plugged channel will quickly evaporate leaving air inside). If you have one or more degasser channels that are not being used, please connect the unused channel in-line to a channel that is being used to keep it filled with fluid at all time. Use a low pressure connection line to connect it in-series (we often call these lines 'C' tubes because they loop back like the letter c).(2) Can you hear a Loud noise coming from the vacuum degasser of a 2695 or other system (a whine or knocking sound) ? If so, the pump has been broken for a very long time and the system should be shut down until it can be serviced. The damaged vacuum pump has probably contaminated the vacuum flow path and will need to be cleaned.
(3) Have you observed ANY liquid in the vacuum pump exhaust line? If so, the system has internal damage and requires professional testing to find out which part or parts require replacement or repair. The vacuum system should be dry.
Replacement vacuum pumps for the integrated degassers found in the: Waters Alliance 2690, 2695, 2790, 2795, 1525, Acquity UPLC and nano Acquity BSM and QSM as well as the standalone Waters Inline Degasser-AF plus full servicing are available.
Chiralizer Services offers a complete upgrade kit with improved low-volume, vacuum chambers (Teflon AF), higher performance vacuum pumps and controllers for installation in the tray area used in the Waters Alliance system. We offer Vacuum pumps and Chamber repairs for the Alliance QSM and BSM systems.
Please send us a detailed email (include your complete contact information, make/model of degasser and S/N) or give us a call to discuss your needs and we can forward you a formal diagnostic TESTING quotation.
